Made some glorious strawberry jam to spread with cream between two sponges for her cake. Still trying to work out the logistics of cake for 32 people.

Planted some basil for the Pesto Pasta Salad. Probably left it a little late but we'll see.

And here's us having morning tea (chocolate muffin and almond croissant from our local cafe and grapes, rockmelon, mango and plum) at the park after our photo shoot.

Yum! You make your own jam - I am so impressed. I don't trust myself at all and am afraid if I tried to jar anything the jars would burst in the middle of the night.
ReplyDeleteIt's very easy. You should give it a try - just not while your girls are running around. The most difficult thing is not eating it. I lived on my Grandad's strawberry jam when Rainbow was a baby. I was starving contiually in those first few weeks and couldn't eat a meal uninterrupted! Then in readiness for Moonshine's birth last year I made a few jars.
ReplyDeleteI used to make cupcakes for my kids party instead of a big cake. That way I knew I had enough cake and the kids had fun choosing a cup cake as they were all decorated differently. Over the years I found that not a lot of cake was usually eaten if there was a lot of food before the cake so the cup cakes can really be mini cup cakes if you want! I would love to make strawberry jam.
